The man who said: "I'd rather be lucky than good" saw deeply into life. People are afraid to face how great a part of life is dependent on luck. It's scary to think so much is out of one's control. There are moments in a match when the ball hits the top of the net, and for a split second, it can either go forward or fall back. With a little luck, it goes forward, and you win. Or maybe it doesn't, and you lose.

When the film start; you faced these words and you thought about. Maybe it means are you sure you are a real good human or you choose beneficence because you are a timorous person?

You think about yourself and chance. If you were sure everything proceed as you want; did you still choose beneficence?

Maybe it's a bitter reality that most people choose to be a good person; because they aren't sure they may be lucky.

The film started when a tennis ball hit over the net and it stop when it hit the net.

There was a tennis player; Chris Wilton (Rhys-Myers) who learnt tennis in a club. He found a rich friend; Tom (Matthew Goode) in there and Tom's sister; Chloe (Mortimer) fell in love him. He invited him to their parties. In one of those parties he met Tom's girl friend; Nola Rice (Scarlett Johansson).  She was a really nice girl but she had a lot of problems with tom's mother. She was a commercial actress that she didn't work any more.

One day when she was angry because of tom's mother, Chris courtship her but when Chris asked her again to be with him; she didn't accept.

Because of good station, Chris got married with Chloe; tom's sister but some times later; he found Zola and Tom dissented and he found her. They join together. He couldn't forget his station so he didn't separate Chloe.

He had so many problems. Zola wanted him to separate. He was worried Chloe understood.

One day when he was so angry about his life; he went to Zola's house; killed her neighbor and pickup her jewelries because he wanted to cheat police and he killed Zola too.

He went side of river and threw her jewelries to river. But one ring hit parapet and back in Chris's rectangular.

Police found Zola and Chris were married and they suspected him. But when they found the ring to pocket of a poor dead man; they became sure that was a general robbery.
